OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW STUDENT ACCOMMODATION FACILITY

Show Voice Options The Northern Cape Department of Health (NCDOH), under the leadership of MEC Maruping Lekwene, proudly inaugurated its first Student Accommodation facility today. This state-of-the-art development, located at the New Mental Hospital along the R31, marks the launch of Phase One in the department's ambitious initiative to revamp Health Sciences Education within the province. This significant milestone aligns with the Northern Cape government's commitment to putting people’s needs first by prioritizing key areas such as skills development and infrastructure expansion. By investing in these priorities, the government is paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for the province's youth and workforce. The newly unveiled accommodation will support the housing of up to 3,050 students over time as they pursue essential qualifications and training in health sciences. This development reflects a bold step toward creating a conducive and inspiring environment that nurtures local talent, empowering the next generation of health professionals. The event was officiated by the Honourable Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul, alongside Ms. Barbra Bartlett, Mayor of the Sol Plaatje Municipality. Their presence reaffirmed the collective commitment to addressing health education challenges and expanding opportunities for young people in the Northern Cape.
